COMMENT - To film or not to film

THERE will be those among us who would welcome the council providing live streams from the chamber and recording their proceedings. But there will also be those who believe it would be a waste of council resources and much needed funds.

Even if the council decides the demand is not there for all meetings to be filmed, the changes to the regulations will allow press and public to film.

Either way, members of the public will have greater access to the democratic process.

And this can only be a positive thing.
