Orrell's first Harrogate game

Orrell welcome Harrogate to Edge Hall Road this Saturday, the first time the two sides have met in a competitive fixture sincethe days of the Northern Merit table.

The Lancashire outfit, who struggled at Waterloo to reach the heights of the previous week's win away at Plymouth, will be hoping that they can return to top form against the 4th placed side in National Two.

Harrogate have a notoriously big pack and in former North of England and Rotherham lock John Dudley they have one of the most experienced forwards in the game. Orrell can expect a thorough work out up front and a performance akin to that down in the westcountry will be called for if Orrell are to be certain of the points.

Although Phil Jones is on England 'A' duty against France in Limoges on Friday night, arrangements have been made to get the outside half back to Edge Hall Road in time for the kick off but John Broxson has been put on standby in case the club's leading points scorer fails to make it.

In the pack Alex Moffat starts at hooker with Chris Pearson dropping down to the bench and there will be a late fitness test on Alex Bennett who missed last week after suffering a calfinjury against Plymouth.

"We are obviously delighted for Phil and we are all hoping that he does well," said director of rugby 'Sammy' Southern.

"But we have made arrangements to get him back as until the promotion places are finally decided every match is important to us."
