Passenger appeal over train attacks

BRITISH Transport Police is appealing for help from the public after two potential lethal incidents on trains which pass through Wigan.

The first incident happened on Friday June 12 when a brick was thrown at the 1.29pm Northern Rail service from Southport to Manchester Airport as it passed through Walkden and smashed the rear cab window.

The following day the 1.14pm Northern Rail service from Manchester Victoria to Kirby hit stones which appeared to have been deliberately placed on the tracks in the Parsonage Road area of Walkden.
