FOUR passengers had to be cut out of a car after a serious crash on a busy Wigan road.

At around 7pm on Tuesday emergency services were called to Warrington Road, Spring View, after a car had come off the road and collided with a bus stop pole.

Fire crews were forced to cut the doors off the vehicle as four passengers, including a child, were trapped inside.

Paramedics treated a woman for neck and back pain and each passenger was taken to Wigan Infirmary for precautionary checks.

The road was closed for around an hour while the scene was cleared.
