POLICE are appealing for help to trace a missing Wigan 70-year-old man with dementia.

Derek Hesketh has not been seen since leaving his home in Poolstock on the morning of Thursday April 23.

He is described as a 5ft 8ins tall white man of slim build with short grey coloured hair and tattoos on his knuckles and arms.

It is believed that he was wearing a black suit jacket, light blue V-neck jumper, black shirt, blue tracksuit bottoms and black shoes.

Police say they are growing increasingly concerned as Mr Hesketh has early dementia and has not taken his medication today. He has not followed his daily routine or visited the places he usually frequents.

Derek is known to visit pubs and betting shops in Wigan town centre and walk along the various canal routes around Wigan as far as Parbold.

Anyone with information should phone police on 101 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
