Sherringtons opened its doors in 2018 in a former hardware store on Kenyon Road and usually sells a selection of craft beers and fine ale.

However, like many other businesses, it has been impacted by the second national lockdown and the continuing restrictions.

So the bar has taken to selling Christmas trees at weekend in a bid to get through the pandemic restrictions.

They started selling the trees on Sunday between 10am and 4pm and are offering them in two sizes, one is 5 to 6ft and the other, 6 to 7ft.

Mark Moorcroft (pictured below), manager of Sherringtons, said: “Due to the current restrictions we wanted to do something that we would not normally do. This is so we can keep the bar in the public eye and diversify and do something else.

“This is based on how long the restrictions go on for.”

The bar also has a number of Willy Fox Brewery mini-kegs available for collection, while Stonebakers have also been serving takeaway pizza outside the popular pub in a van.

Mark said: “We were using Stonebakers the last time we were in the tier restrictions and serving customers pizza as a substantial meal so we could keep the bar open.

“We’ll have to see what we do this time depending on the restrictions.”

The bar is doing a collection service only with cash or card payments accepted. For more details visit their Facebook.
