The fire started in the rear yard of the Leigh Arms, on King Street in Leigh, at around 7pm on Friday.

Thick smoke could be seen billowing into the sky as crews on several fire engines made their way to the pub.

They worked to bring the fire under control, which was believed to have started accidentally.

No-one was injured.
