Taylor Foster welcomed baby Koa into the world at 5.30pm on Tuesday at Whiston Hospital.

The 25-year-old had a healthy pregnancy and was delighted when her son arrived weighing 7lbs 7oz.

But what should have been a happy time ended in tragedy, as she was found unresponsive the next morning and doctors could not save her.

Preliminary tests have failed to establish what happened to the doting mum and an inquest will be held.

She is survived by her husband Sean, 31, their two-year-old son Elijah and Koa, as well as her parents Ann and Bill, two brothers and a sister.

Sean, from Platt Bridge, said: “She was super mum. She did everything for the kids, even to the point where I got home after Koa was born thinking I would get everything sorted for him and I realised she had already done it.”

Taylor attended Byrchall High School and studied childcare at Wigan and Leigh College, before starting work at Lowri Beck in Wigan in 2012.

It was there she met Sean and love soon blossomed after she invited him on a night out to celebrate her 18th birthday.

The couple were married in 2018 in a ceremony Sean described as “perfect”.

Taylor dreamed of being a mum and they hoped to build a large family.

As well as their two sons, the couple sadly had three miscarriages and Taylor continued to light candles in memory of those babies.

Sean described his wife as having a “heart of gold” and always thinking of others.

She loved going out with her friends, doing crafts with Elijah, sleeping, reading, and a rare steak and bottle of wine.

Tributes have poured in following Taylor’s sudden death and more than £12,000 has already been given to an online appeal to help pay for a funeral and support her family.

Sean said: “It’s gone absolutely crazy, I can’t believe it. All my worries about funeral costs and nursery fees have been completely waylaid by everyone’s generosity. Even strangers have donated.”

He thanked staff at Whiston Hospital.

“She was comfortable there and that’s some comfort. I know all the staff there went above and beyond and I can’t thank them enough for everything,” he said.
