It was adjourned to a future date, yet to be set.

Matthew, who lived in Astley with his partner and children, was a former solider and had served with the Royal Irish regiment.

A shrine was created on Spa Road, near the junction with Everest Road, when loved ones visited the scene of the crash to remember Matthew and leave tributes.

Among the items left was a Jungle Book Father’s Day card from his “little monkey” and a moving note from his parents.

Police launched an investigation into the crash in June and spoke to the driver of the car, who stopped after the collision.

PC Darren White, of Greater Manchester Police’s serious collision investigation unit, said at the time: “Despite the best efforts of emergency services and hospital staff, the rider of the motorcycle has sadly passed away in hospital. Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this devastating time.”
