But Kyle, a joinery student at Wigan and Leigh College, died on Sunday, September 13.

His cause of death was recorded as a traumatic brain injury and the inquest was adjourned until a date yet to be set.

Kyle's sudden death sent shockwaves through the community in Platt Bridge, where he had always lived.

His devastated mum Lindsey Croston said: “He was bubbly and he had so much respect for everyone. He was so kind and full of life.”

She said Kyle, who loved motorbikes, parties and spending time with his friends and girlfriend, had played in a charity football match on the day of the crash.

He had also been involved in fund-raising in memory of his close friend Billy Livesley, who was murdered in December 2018.

Lindsey said: “He would do anything to help anybody. That’s the kind of boy that he was. If he could help you in any way, he would help you.

“He was the life and soul of the party. The bond I had with him was unbelievable.”

A large shrine has been created on Woodcock Drive, in Platt Bridge, in memory of Kyle, with balloons spelling his name, along with photographs and flowers.

A fund-raising event has been held and hundreds of pounds have been donated online to help pay for a funeral.

Tragically, Kyle will be buried alongside his 17-year-old uncle Craig Croston, who drowned in Appley Bridge’s East Quarry in 1999.

The pair never met, but Kyle's middle name was Craig in honour of his uncle.
