Man taken to hospital and junction closed after Wigan road smash

Three people were treated by the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) following the smash on Monday afternoon.
A man in his 30s suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

Hide AdThe other two people involved suffered only minor injuries and were treated at the scene.
A helicopter from the North West Air Ambulance also landed nearby but the man was taken to hospital by road.
Police taped off the entire junction while the ambulance service treated those who had been hurt.
There was a large emergency response with two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle and several police vehicles all dispatched.
NWAS also sent an operational commander to take charge of the incident.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1.40pm on Monday.
