Pictured by Wigan Today reader Chris Winstanley is the Southern region West Country class loco at Wigan North West station.
It was hauling the Saphos train to Carlisle via the spectacular Settle to Carlisle line.
She was in Wigan in the morning and passed by agin on its return journey 12 hours later, the route taken being Chester Warrington, Wigan, Blackburn and then Carlisle.
