Search for Wigan talent for show at arts hub

Five performers from the borough are being sought for a 2021 production at The Old Courts.

The Crawford Street culture hub is teaming up with Manchester performer and theatre creator Darren Pritchard to remake one of his shows in Wigan and a casting call has now been issued.

The team are looking for people with a connection to Wigan or Leigh of any age or background who has an interesting story to tell and something to say about the world around them.

The finished show, which is part of the Moving Roots project led by Battersea Arts Centre to create shows in towns and cities including Wigan, will involve cabaret-style live performances mixed with personal storytelling, which Darren will work on with the cast in rehearsals.

Solo artists are being sought and the invitation is open to artists including singers, dancers, comedians, rappers, spoken word artists, jugglers, circus or variety acts.

A weekly rate will be paid.
