Take a look behind the scenes as Wigan borough fire station holds an open day

Firefighters are throwing open the doors of their station so all the family can learn about their work.

An open day is being held at Hindley fire station, on Borsdane Avenue, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, June 25.

There will be ride-along vehicles for children, demonstrations of chip pan fires and rescues from damaged vehicles, and a range of equipment on display.

It will be a joint emergency service event with Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service.
