Leigh-based The Lottery Winners’ Love Will Keep Us Together is available digitally now with a vinyl format going on sale on June 20: Record Store Day.

It follows the success of their top 20 self-titled debut album, released as the national lockdown began and reaching the top 10 in the national vinyl, indie and midweek charts.

The group should now have been on their largest UK tour yet, but that has been postponed so it ends at Wigan’s Boulevard on November 20. Instead, they have focused on helping people affected by Covid-19 repercussions via a campaign led by GM Mayor Andy Burnham who recently joined them for a chat on their own TV channel: LWTV.

The song’s verses talk of the tough times everyone shares and the choruses ring with warmth and love for that which really matters.

Profits from the record release will go to the Beelieve campaign, a pool of city-region mental health charities helping people cope with the complex social and psychological distress that Covid-19 and isolation bring.

Donations can be made directly to Beelieve via a donation button on the band’s Spotify and Facebook pages.

Mr Burnham said: “I’ve been watching Lottery Winners for years and what they’re doing by donating their profits to Beelive is an amazing gesture. However, I’m not surprised because this is the kind of people they are.

"I hope the public will get behind them and buy their single, especially as they’re launching during this difficult time when they can’t promote it in the way they normally would.”

The band’s front man Thom Rylance said: “It’s a song of positivity about the power of connection during bleak times.”

The band will also sell a limited run of T-shirts, hoodies and prints featuring the artwork of Love Will Keep Us Together from their online store at the-lottery-winners.tmstor.es.

All merchandise profits will go to Beelieve.
