“Since then I’ve had chemotherapy and radiotherapy and other surgery and I have ongoing treatment every three weeks.

“I’ve also had a double mastectomy although I’m getting my right sided breast reconstructed soon.

“There’s no sign of the cancer but my body makes a hormone which can cause it so I need to have treatment to keep it away.

“I’ve had 20 lots of treatment now so I won’t have to go for a blood test the day before and I can just go in on the day instead.”

Jo, who has a partner Matt Naylor and two children, Oliver, five, and Bojana, 15, described the care she received as “fantastic.”

She said: “I am having cakes made and a frame with all the names of the staff who have treated me and what they mean to me.

“I’m also going to raise money for them and I’m looking at wearing pink for October in the shop to raise money for breast cancer.

“The staff have just been so good and understanding and not just the nurses but also the people at reception, the cleanrers, oncologist and

doctors.

“The care I’ve received has made the whole experience a lot easier for me and it’s just been brilliant.

“The ward is so happy and you can have a laugh and that’s so important when you’re fighting cancer.”

She added: “I just want to thank them for everything they’ve done.”

Jo is now planning on giving the cakes and the frame when she has her next treatment on September 24.
