Wigan woman reunited with lost bracelet given to her by late son

A distraught Wigan woman who lost a bracelet that was given to her by her son before his death, has been overjoyed by its safe return.

Val Hoy lost a silver bracelet last Saturday, July 18, following a day at the Boar’s Head pub in Standish.

It was given to her by son Chris before his tragic death in a car accident in 2004. She had never taken it off since then.

The bracelet is made of silver and had little monetary value, but to Val it is a priceless reminder of her son. Val's niece Jan confirmed that the jewellery had since been found and returned to her safely after being discovered near some weeds near Val's house.

Jan said: "Val has asked for you to say THANK YOU to everyone who reacted in any way to this story. She has happy tears today and the bracelet is back where it belongs."
