POP star Peter Andre is to perform at this summer’s Haigh Hall Live concert series.

The Mysterious Girl singer is the first act to be confirmed for two nights of live music in the grounds of the famous Wigan landmark.

Andre will take to the stage, along with special guests, on Friday, July 1, in the first of two outdoor concerts which organisers Cuffe & Taylor hope will repeat the success of last year’s TunedIn concerts at Haigh country park.

Promoters have now promised another world-class artist for the gig on Saturday, July 2, will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

It is expected the concert series will play host to more than 15,000 people over the two nights. And in an added boost, residents with a WN postcode will receive a £5 discount on pre-sale tickets.

Event director Peter Taylor said: “We feel privileged to be able to present an outdoor weekend of music in the grounds of Haigh Hall, not only is it perfect stage viewing from all areas, just look at that backdrop.

“The people of Wigan are so lucky to have this on their doorstep. As a thank you we will be offering a discount on tickets to all residents with a Wigan postcode.”

Peter Andre became a chart star in the 1990s with a host of top 10 hits, including Flava and Natural.

After years out of the spotlight, his appearance on reality TV show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here and subsequent high-profile marriage, then split, with model Katie Price, saw the 37-year-old become a tabloid favourite.

His latest album Accelerate reached number 10 in the UK charts and his tour in December included sell-out concerts at some of the country’s biggest arenas.

Haigh Hall Live will also see the return of Haigh Fest for its ninth year on Sunday, July 3, to close the event.

Tickets for Peter Andre go on general sale Friday, February 18 at 9am, and will available to purchase at Wigan Tourist Information Centre, online via See Tickets or Ticketmaster or by calling 0844 873 7334. Tickets will cost £32.50 until April 30, and £35 from May 1.

Tickets for the Saturday concert are due to go on sale on Friday, March 4. For more info, visit
