A PIG’S head was left on the driver’s seat of a car in Wigan after its windows were smashed.

Between 7.30am and 8.10am on Tuesday, November 11, a 54-year-old man parked his grey Landrover Freelander on a dirt track off Wigan Lower Road, Standish Lower Ground.

He walked his dog in nearby Elnup Woods before returning.

When he got back, he realised his car had been damaged and a pig’s head had been left on the seat.

Police Constable Sean O’Connor said: “This appears to be a premeditated targeted attack but we do not believe it is racially motivated in anyway.

“The time of the day when this took place was during the morning rush hour and Wigan Lower Road is a busy main road.

“There is a good chance a passing motorist may have witnessed the damage taking place and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time, and may have seen anything, to contact police.”

Anyone with information should phone officers on 0161 856 7124 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
