Pledge to overhaul rundown play area

Residents had repeatedly complained to Independent councillor George Fairhurst over the condition of the swings and slide on Churchlands Lane.

Other news: Wigan village's double curry successAnd after discussions with developer Morris Homes, Coun Fairhurst says he is hopeful it will be overhauled in the near future.

He added: “It needs a bit of a shot in the arm but it took a bit of digging to find out who was responsible for the play area.

“All credit to Morris Homes though, when I raised the matter with them, and told them what it was like, they agreed to do something about it without any arguments.”
