POLICE have released an image of a man they would like to speak to after an assault in Wigan.

Just before 9pm on Friday, May 29, a 50-year-old man was assaulted by two men in an alleyway leading to playing fields off Cale Lane, Aspull. It is believed he was struck by a crowbar and broke his arm as he tried to protect himself.

Police have now released an image of a man they would like come forward.

Detective Constable Kevin Telford said: “I would appeal directly to the man in the image to come forward as we believe he may have either witnessed the assault or have information as to who is responsible. I would also ask anyone who may know him to call us or ask him to get in touch with police as soon as possible.”
