Police close road after man spotted on roof
A man has been arrested after climbing onto the roof of a building.
Police were first called to reports of a male on a roof on Tunstall Lane shortly after 10am today (Saturday).
He was seen to be dislodging slate tiles and throwing onto the street below during the incident, close by to the Galloways bakery and the Halfway House pub.
Police, paramedics, and fire crews cordoned off the road as they communicated with the man.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police revealed that the person was not "an individual in crisis", and that he has now been taken into police custody after being taken down from the roof.
