Police have today confirmed that they are investigating a fight at a Wigan gym which allegedly involved players from Wigan Warriors.
No arrests have yet been made, but the club has launched its own probe and may take disciplinary action if any players are found to have breached its code of conduct.
Greater Manchester Police said that damage was caused to the Xercise4Less building during the incident, which happened on Friday night.
The players had spent the afternoon at Haydock racecourse before moving on to Wigan.

A police spokesman said: “We were called at 8.45pm on Friday after a disturbance at a gym on Chapel Lane.
“Two men had entered the gym and one had caused damage to the building.
“Officers attended and spoke to all partied. Inquiries are ongoing but no arrests have been made.”
The Evening Post contacted the club for a comment over the weekend regarding the incident and received confirmation that one player could face disciplinary action.
