Police probe triple stabbing

POLICE are investigating a triple stabbing following a house party in Wigan.

It happened at around 6am this morning (Friday), when the victims had attended a party at a house on Satchel Close - part of the new housing on the site of the former St Thomas More High School.

They had all been drinking throughout the night and there was a dispute in the early hours of the morning between the party goers.

The offender was seen with two knives and started to run around the house attacking the people inside.

The fracas spilled out onto the street where the victims started knocking on neighbouring doors for help.

Three men were injured and were all taken to hospital for treatment.

An 18-year-old suffered a puncture wound to his chest, a 23-year-old had a minor laceration to the his cheek and a 29-year-old had two puncture wounds to his back, a puncture wound behind his right ear and a small laceration to his face. They have all been discharged from hospital.

Det Insp Graham Atherton from Wigan police said: “This altercation happened in the early hours of the morning after those involved had consumed a large amount of alcohol.

“It spilled out onto the street causing a disturbance to their neighbours. I want to stress that this is an isolated incident and there was no risk to the wider public.
