Police searching for suspect after stabbing in Wigan borough

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "Shortly after 4.10pm today (Wednesday 13 May 2020), police were called to reports that a woman had been stabbed on Elliott Street in Tyldesley.

"Officers are in attendance and a 39-year-old woman has been taken to hospital for treatment.

"Police are actively searching the area for a woman who fled the scene prior to police arrival. No arrests have currently been made.

"Enquiries are ongoing.

"Anyone with information should call police on 101 quoting incident number 1696 of 13/05/20, or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
