Coun Paul Prescott, cabinet member for planning and environmental services at Wigan Council, said: “The latest closure acts a stern reminder to bars and pubs across the borough that Wigan Council won’t hesitate to close venues which show a complete disregard to protecting the public.
“While restrictions in the borough eased last week, this is not a time to get complacent and we must all continue to abide by the rules so we don’t undo all the good work of the previous months in keeping the infection rates low.
“I would like to once again thank the vast majority of businesses in Wigan borough that are respecting the guidelines and acting responsibly.”
