STAFF at the Asda distribution centre had a special visit to help them raise money for male cancer charity Everyman - the UK’s leading prostate and testicular cancer campaign.
The Premier League trophy was in town and workers at the Wheatlea Industrial Estate warehouse relished the opportunity to have their photograph taken with it.
Barclays, the official sponsor of the Premier League, put on a somewhat special show for staff in their canteen.
Workers enjoyed taking turns in the special “ticket grabber” machine where they had the chance to win a pair of tickets to a Barclays Premier League football match by grabbing as many blue tokens as they could.
They were also treated to a rather unique performance by the Barclays dancers.
People manager Andrea Mills said: “Asda supports many charities across the whole organisation.
“It was highlighted that in the distribution centre, it’s a pretty male dominated environment, so for the first year we are focusing on raising as much money as possible for one charity, which is Everyman.
“They’ve brought the Premiership trophy in today, which is great as the guys love it.”
