PRIME Minister David Cameron’s visit inspired a raucous Wigan welcome from demonstrators massed in front of Wigan and Leigh College.
Save Wigan A and E protesters joined Ince Bedroom Tax group and anti-fracking pressure groups in front of a sea of trade union flags, banners and hand held insults to the coalition chief.
Whether on the instruction of his security staff or a deliberate decision to avoid the protesters, the PM arrived out of sight of the demonstrators.
He avoided the main entrance entered the Wigan Youth Zone complex - and left - through a side entrance on the blocked off Mesnes Park Terrace.
