A LUCKY Wigan shopper bought a Lottery scratchcard – and won a cool £1m.

The man, believed to be in his thirties, walked into the Tesco Extra, in Hindley Green, yesterday morning, to buy a ticket.

He scratched his card there and then, and in front of disbelieving staff and shoppers, realised he had won £1,000,000.

Unbelievably, the man tried to claim his huge winnings from dumbstruck shop assistants.

After realising he would not be able to claim such a large amount, he then made a quick exit, without revealing his identity.

A spokesman for Camelot said they could neither confirm or deny the Lottery win, but news of it soon spread, as shoppers and store staff shared the news.
