FORECASTERS are warning heavy rain and gale force winds could batter the region late on Monday and into Tuesday.
A weather front moving in from the west is expected to hit the county on Monday evening with the potential for flooding and minor structural damage.
The Met Office put out a yellow alert for both wind and rain, warning of gusts of between 50 and 60mph, with isolated gusts up to 70mph.
Rainfall through Monday evening and into Tuesday morning could measure up to 20mm, with as much as 30-40mm in high ground, leading to the possibility of river flooding and standing water causing some disruption to traffic.
The wind and rain are expected to ease by Wednesday and the forecast for Lancashire over Easter is for a gradual improvement.
