Fire crews were called to Bow Road, Leigh, at 5.30am on Tuesday after a wheelie bin was set on fire, which spread to a wooden shed.
Shortly after 7am two garden sheds were set alight at the rear of Warrington Road, near its junction at Manchester Road.
The buildings contained two gas cylinders, which firefighters managed to remove safely.
The blaze totally destroyed both sheds, smashing the windows and melting the guttering.
