A WARNING of snow has been issued by the met Office for Wigan and Greater Manchester.
Snow is expected to fall in the early hours of Thursday morning with a chance of further snow to come later this week.
A spokesman for the Met Office said: “The public should be aware of the possibility of difficult driving conditions and some minor travel disruption on higher routes.
“An area of more organised showers will move south across Greater Manchester during Wednesday evening and into Thursday. The showers will fall as sleet, snow and hail on high ground, before turning to rain within a few hours. Temporary accumulations of 2-5 cm of snow are possible within a few hours above 300-400 metres.”
Motorists have been warned to expect delays.
