The girl, in her early teens, was at Newbridge Learning Community Centre, in Moss Lane, Platt Bridge, when she caught herself on part of the fence at 3pm on Friday.
Fire crews from Hindley were called and used specialist cutting equipment to release the girl from the fence.
Paramedics form North West Ambulance Service attended alongside the North West Air Ambulance and she was taken to Manchester Children’s Hospital with leg injuries.
A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a community centre in Moss Lane and found a female teenager impaled on a fence by her leg. She suffered injuries to her leg and was taken to hospital.”
