Teenage girl punched in face on bus

A teenaged girl was punched in the face in an unprovoked attack on a bus.

The incident happened on a Blackpool Transport number 14 bus as it pulled into Talbot Road on Sunday (October 23).

A Lancashire Police spokesman said: “At Around 4.45pm, a man sat next to a woman on the Number 14 bus and tried talking to her.

“As the bus approached the Wilko store, the man punched the victim in the face before making off.

The victim, a 19-year-old woman from Thornton, suffered minor facial injuries and went to hospital for treatment.”

The offender is described as black and was wearing a black hoodie and black jogging pants.

Police have released a CCTV image of the man they would like to speak to in connection with the offence.

PC Dave Watson, of Blackpool Police, said: “The attack seems to be random and unprovoked and the victim has received facial injuries as a result.

“We are particularly keen to speak to this man, pictured, in connection with the incident.”
