THOUSANDS of Wigan Athletic supporters packed out the town centre to see their heroes show off the FA Cup in a glorious end of season parade.
The players, who arrived in an open-top bus, were greeted by some amazing scenes in Standishgate with fans young and old singing and dancing in the streets.
‘I’m a believer’ rang out as the bus made its way through the crowds in scenes never before seen in the history of Wigan Athletic.
The mood was fantastic and the players lapped up every minute of it singing back to their adoring fans.
Beaming boss Roberto Martinez took the microphone after the team had taken to the stage to thank the supporters. He said: “It’s unbelievable. I want to say thankyou to everyone for coming. We’ve won the FA Cup!”
