THREE young men have been arrested charged with drug-related offences after two cars collided on a Wigan road.

The emergency services were called to Norley Hall Avenue following an incident involving a white Audi and a silver Renault Megane just after 5pm on Monday.

A 22-year-old man, a 19-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were all taken into custody on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply.

The 19-year-old has also been accused of driving while unfit to do so due to the influence of drink or drugs.

A total of four people were in the Audi at the time of the collision, while a woman was driving the Renault with two children as passengers.

One of the children suffered a suspected leg injury and the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) confirmed it had taken at least one person from the scene to Wigan Infirmary.

However, the NWAS was unable to confirm how many people had been taken to hospital or the extent of their injuries.

The Audi suffered heavy damage to its front and side in the incident on the Pemberton housing estate and police reports suggest it will be written off.

Residents said the road was shut for a couple of hours while Greater Manchester Police (GMP) and recovery vehicles attended the scene.
