IT’S less than two weeks until Wigan Athletic step out at Wembley for their historic FA Cup Final against mega-rich Manchester City.
Roberto Martinez and his team have written a new chapter in the club’s ever-growing history book and the whole town is being urged to illustrate the pages blue and white.
The Council’s “Believe in Wigan” campaign kicked off this week with billboards across the borough, windows decorated with posters and even a plane flying overhead with a banner saying: “Believe in Wigan - Come on Latics.”
Martinez this week met with council bosses to launch the Believe campaign and is urging everyone to get behind his players.
He said: “It’s great to see the whole town getting behind the campaign.
“There’s a special buzz around the town and I think the big banners which say ‘Believe’ sum up what we are as a football club.
“We really enjoy the great support we get from the Council and the town. We need to make sure we go to Wembley and make the town proud.”
