Everything we know so far about the Pemberton Road crash

Just after 11.15am this morning (Thursday) a serious crash occurred on Pemberton Road in Winstanley, closing the surrounding roads.

Here's everything we know about the incident:

The crash, between a motorbike and a van, happened near the junction of Pemberton Road and Holmes House Avenue.

A motorcyclist was taken to Aintree Hospital by ambulance with "major trauma".

Pemberton Road and the surrounding area was closed for more than an hour while the air and road ambulances attended.

The van driver suffered "a very minor eye injury" during the crash.
