Man fighting for life in hospital after collision with car in Wigan

A man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a collision with a car at a Wigan junction.

Police have now launched an urgent appeal for witnesses following the serious incident at Wilton Avenue in Whelley late on Saturday night.

The driver stopped at the scene but the man was seriously hurt and rushed to hospital where his life hangs in the balance.

Anyone who saw the collision or spotted either the pedestrian or the car in the moments before the incident are now being urged to come forward by Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

Officers are also keen to speak to anyone who might have dashcam footage.
