Traffic disruption after multi-vehicle smash in Wigan
A head-on collision on a Wigan road brought traffic to a near standstill.
The incident occurred this morning (Wednesday) in Hall Lane, Wigan, as rush hour commuters made their way through icy conditions.
One motorist described the road as "like a a sheet of ice".
Cars were reportedly backed up most of the length of the road, but residents have reported that traffic is now slowly moving once more.
