POLICE have moved quickly to take action against a group of travellers who had set up camp in Wigan.

The group of three caravans and vehicles had set up on the rugby pitches on Scot Lane, close to Martland Mill, which are owned by the Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust.

Neighbours had complained about the visitors, who are alloted legal sites in the borough on which to park.

Police moved them off the land.
