TWINS Luke and James Turner do everything together – and now they are going to the same university.

The Winstanley College students, who live in Billinge, achieved almost identical A-level results and are doing the same course – maths and theoretical physics – at the University of St Andrews.

Luke achieved A*s in maths, physics, chemistry, biology and general studies, as well as an A in an extended project of his choice.

He said: “I am very happy – I was hoping for these results, but I did not think I would get them.

“I am also pleased for my brother – I have been everywhere with him so him being at university with me won’t make any difference.”

James earned himself three A*s in maths, chemistry and physics and an A in biology.

He said: “I had to work extremely hard but it was all worth it in the end.

“Luke and I have similar interests, so it makes sense we are doing the same course.

“We revised in the same room and we helped each other when we needed it.”

Proud mum, Angela, 53, said: “I am overjoyed for them both. They are both really self motivated. They have always been similar and even in exams, although one would do slightly better than the other, it seemed to balance out.”
