Final touches made to Wigan bakery Galloways stores as some set to-reopen

The final touches are being put in place ahead of the much-anticipated re-opening of some stores of a beloved Wigan bakery on Wednesday.

Galloways will open the doors of a number of their shops more than two months after the firm closed all of its 25 branches following lockdown.

And the bakery has posted pictures on Twitter of the safety measures it has put in place ahead of the grand day.

There will be marked out bays in shops with a limited number of customers allowed in at one time, while it will ask shoppers to make contactless payments where possible and provide sanitiser stations.

It tweeted: "Final touches today for our return on Wednesday, we look forward to welcoming all our customers back to shop safely with us!"

Shop which are planned to open on Wednesday are;

City Road, Wigan,

Aspull

The next list of shops to open as part of the phased re-opening will include: Market Place, Tunstall Lane, Pemberton and Smithy Green. No date has been given for when these stores will re-open.

The bakery plans to open the shops with a limited product range.
