And Suzanne has continued to work in the salon a couple of days a week but has now taken a step back.

Beth, who lives in Aspull, said it was nice to keep the salon in the family, especially as it used to belong to another relative, Sylvia Leigh.

She said: “My mum has had the salon for 33 years and my dad has been involved with it helping out, as he has a full-time job also.

“I’ve taken over the salon since we re-opened after lockdown.

“Mum is still working at the salon three days a week but she’s cutting it down to two eventually.

“It’s nice to keep the salon in the family though.”

Since starting in April last year, Beth said the salon has been refurbished with new floors and chairs among other things added to it.

Before working at the salon, Beth did an apprenticeship as well as being self-employed at another

salon.

And Beth said she has had a successful start with it being busy since reopening after lockdown.

She said: “It’s been absolutely rammed more than expected since we reopened.

“We didn’t know how it was going to be as we thought maybe people would be cautious after lockdown but it’s been really busy.”
