Pub-goers can enjoy Wigan’s biggest projector screen and several HD TVs as well as pool tables and a range of food and cocktails.

Michael Pagett is the man behind the bar which is his latest venture, as he already owns Reef Bar & Terrace and The Wiend Bar.

Mr Pagett said the venue would “bring something different” to King Street and the town centre.

He said: “The grand opening will be low key due to social distancing.

“But this will be a sports bar serving food and we will be doing table bookings online and have an exciting cocktail menu.

“We just want to bring something new to King Street and the town centre as there’s no similar sports bar, and we want a daytime crowd that attracts families.”

The venue has 90 seats but the capacity is reduced due to social distancing, while other safety measures include automatic hand sanitiser units in staff areas and at the entrance.

He said: g“It was disappointing to not be able to open in May due to the lockdown but it’s given us time to get everything ready and we’ve spent more than £100,000 on the bar.

“Trading through the current coronavirus restrictions has been difficult in our other venues such as Reef, Partyhaus and The Wiend but it has made us realise the market is still there and we need to make the most of it whilst we can.

He added: “The bar will open daily from 11am.

“I’m confident the bar will be a real success as we want to bring a new food and drink offering to King Street and the town centre.”
