Popular Wigan chippy is providing a great service

Opening hours will remain the same and its delivery service is available six days a week.

Customers have been asked to use their sanitising stations and wear face masks unless exempt.

People have also been asked to keep their distance when queuing with only two customers allowed in the shop at one time.

Manager Nichole Foster, pictured, highlighted the importance of supporting local businesses.

She said: “We think it is very important that we still provide this service as a lot of our regular customers are elderly and classed as vulnerable.

“By offering a delivery service they are still getting their weekly fix of fish and chips which is keeping them happy. We have also been providing the local care home (Golborne house) with chips for the residents every week as a little treat from us to keep their spirits up as we understand this is a very difficult time for them.

“We’ve had great feedback from this.

She added: “We think it’s incredibly important that the locals know we are here for them and as a community support one another by using each others services.”

Scores of businesses across the borough are working round the clock to provide a service during lockdown 2.

*Wigan Tyres Limited is open with all guidelines in place, to keep key workers on the road as well as their delivery drivers.

*Relish Cheese and Wine is takeaway service each Friday and Saturday from 12.30pm to 5.30pm. Orders can be placed via its Facebook page.

*C’est La Vie Catering is offering takeaway afternoon teas, sharing platters and Sunday lunches. Search for Cestlaviebuffets on Facebook.
