Standish Christmas Market to go virtual amid Covid-19 restrictions

Organisers of Standish Christmas Market have said it will be a virtual event this year amid the Covid-19 restrictions.

This will see the market join up with website Peddle.com to host their first ever virtual showcase.

The substitute event will come as a boost to organisers who were left disappointed with having to cancel the physical market, which has been running since 2015 and costs the group thosands of pounds to stage.

It usually includes stalls, attraction, a drinks marqiee, Father Christmas, games and a Santa Trail.

Organisers said: “If you’re a past trader or have already enquired about this year’s event and haven’t had an email with details, don’t panic! Sign-up is quick and easy.

“Look out for details in your inbox soon.”

Organisers said they be using Peddle.com to help them provide an easy to use platform, where people will be able to shop directly from independent, creative businesses in the market.

There will be a sneak preview of who is trading from December 2 and the market goes live at 6pm on December 4 until 6pm on Sunday December 6.

On visiting the market people can shop by stallholders by browsing the categories and selecting all those they want.
