A MOTORIST has admitted involvement in a horrific car crash which left another elderly driver seriously injured.
Robert Black pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Mondeo dangerously at about 10am on January 25 this year on Makerfield Way, Higher Ince. His vehicle was in a high-speed collision with a Fiat Punto coming in the opposite direction near Pettycoat Lane. The other driver, Thomas Fielding, was on his way to the nearby Morrisons store with his partner. Mr Fielding suffered multiple fractures and had to have his right foot amputated.
Black, 23, of Sycamore Avenue, Beech Hill, admitted the offence at Liverpool Crown Court and Judge Denis Watson, QC, further remanded him on bail but warned him that he faces a prison sentence on October 7.
