Wigan biker killed in crash named locally

A Wigan man who was killed in a motorbike collision on Sunday night has been named locally.

Gareth Falla, 32, died after his white Suzuki Bandit motorbike collided with a lamp post on Seaman Way in Ince.

The incident happened at around 11.25pm. Mr Falla was taken to hospital but sadly died from his injuries.

His sister, Andrea Aspinall, has posted a tribute to her brother on Facebook. She said: “My heart is well and truly breaking, my little brother gained his wings. Love you Gaz Falla will always love you my little big brother.”

Seaman Way was closed on Monday morning for three hours while forensic work was carried out.

PC Paul Joynson, from GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are trying to understand exactly what happened in the moments leading up to the collision.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who might have seen the bike earlier or has any information about this incident.

“This man’s family have just lost their loved one and are understandably devastated. We want to help them in any way we can and provide them with the answers they deserve.”
