SHOPPERS in Wigan are some of the most likely to buy gadget gifts for their loved ones for Christmas.
The borough’s residents plan to spend an average of £281 on gadgets as presents, compared to the national average of £275.
Whilst the top gadgets on the wish list, which include iPad or iPhone4, cost between £429 and £599, Wigan gift buyers are still able to purchase other lower priced gadgets while filling stockings with more affordable gadget accessories.
Mohammed Hussain, MD Mobile Fun, which compiled the survey, said: “Gadget gifts don’t have to be expensive. “They can just as easily be about ‘gadget bling’ or ‘gadgets for your gadgets’, where shoppers accessorize their friends and family’s gadgets with new cases, sleeves, bags, headsets, car kits and speakers.
“With accessories starting at less than £10, consumers without much to spend can still find an affordable way to complement the gadgets that the people in their life already have or are receiving this year.”
